Duck Young Chung is a scientist in solid state chemistry and materials science with primary research interest in thermoelectrics, superconductor, topological insulators, and nuclear radiation detection for both basic science research and technological applications. His expertise includes synthesis and crystal growth coupled with structure and chemical and physical property characterization, and accompanied experimental techniques and methods for a variety of bulk materials including chalcogenides, halides, pnictides, intermetallic alloys, etc. He is the author of over 200 publications in high-impact journals and patents. He received Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from Kyungpook National University, Korea, in 1991.
