George Lauro has spent the last 25 years as a Venture Capitalist, Investment Banker and operating executive, including Board Director positions at 7 public and 26 private technology companies. He is a former Managing Director & Partner at Wasserstein Perella, a leading Wall Street Private Equity & Leveraged Buyout firm and Partner at US Equity Partners L.P. who has built several companies from prototype stage to high-value exit (M&A/IPO) and created over $1B of shareholder value. George has raised $250M VC/PE financing for portfolio companies and completed M&A deals exceeding $2B in value. He was IBM’s Managing Director of Tech Commercialization at World HQ and led a team that launched IBM spinouts from Watson Research Lab. George began his career as an MIT engineer developing inertial guidance systems for strategic missiles at Draper Lab and MIT Aero/Astro Dept. where he was a MIT/Draper Fellow. He attended Brown (BSEE), The Wharton School (MBA), and MIT (grad studies in aeronautical engineering). George has had 23 patents awarded for inventions in inertial guidance, advanced materials, and wireless technologies.
