Dr. Indra Pandey
Senior Scientist
Dr. Indra Pandey is a Senior Scientist at Actinia with a Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from Kyungpook National University in South Korea. He’s an experimentalist with a strong interest in materials science and radiation detector technology, with particular interest medical imaging and homeland security applications.
Starting in 2014, Dr. Pandey began working in materials science as a crystal growth expert, focused on the Czochralski and Bridgman techniques. After receiving a Ph.D. in 2019, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow for 2 years at the Center for Underground Physics at Institute for Basics Science in Korea, working on neutrino detection technologies. For the last two years before joining Actinia, Indra worked at Northwestern University (and as a Resident Associate at Argonne National Lab) with Prof. Mercouri Kanatzidis, one of Actinia’s founding scientists and advisors, on CsPbBr3 perovskite semiconductor material. He brings the company unparalleled expertise in material synthesis, purification, single crystal growth, and detector science.
At Actinia, Dr. Pandey’s responsibilities include synthesis, crystal growth optimization, and detector fabrication. He aims to deliver the highest grade crystals and detectors possible.
Outside of his research work, Indra enjoys traveling as much as he can.
